Beautiful That Way, played by Miley Cyrus. When I heard about this film, I immediately thought of this year’s Substance. Both Pamela Anderson and Demi Moore are actresses who were huge stars in their youth and whose careers were «closely tied to their looks» and stopped getting roles in prestigious Hollywood productions after a certain age, but this year they got roles that make them back on the radar of moviegoers.

Demi, however, performed phenomenally in a highly original and daring body horror and her role will go down in cinema history as one of the best comebacks. well, she acts well in this film and proves she can be a good dramatic actress, but she is held back by the film itself, which is too formulaic, doesn’t take any risks, and doesn’t delve into the psychology of the main character, let alone that of the completely unscripted supporting characters. There are a few interesting plot seeds, including: clashes between the characters over which of the performances they make in various clubs are art and which are pornography, but these interesting moments are quickly cut off in favor of sentimental and inconsequential scenes, like Pamela dancing on the street in Las Vegas.
I didn’t like Jamie Lee Curtis in this, who acts like she’s in a completely different film from the others
The plot is pretty predictable – we know how the conflicts between the characters are resolved and that some elements introduced at the beginning return at the end. I also don’t understand why the shots at the beginning of the film are so oddly out of focus at times?? I think it should be part of the artistic vision, but it’s done so clumsily and inconsistently that it looks more like an accident.
You’ll probably watch it and immediately forget it afterward
But at least The Last Showgirl is only 1 hour and 25 minutes long, so it’s not a tedious experience.
